On 2 September, 2025, The Master was delighted to sign the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of the Company in the presence of the Lady Mayoress, Florence King at Mansion House.

Reinforcing our strong commitment to our Armed Forces, and building on his personal support for SSAFA the Armed Forces Charity and Clocktower during his year in office, signing the Armed Forces Covenant was the first step in formalising the whole Company’s support for serving personnel, their families, and veterans.

Making a public pledge of support makes a statement to the Armed Forces community that they are valued by society and encourages other organisations to do the same.  The support of employers is vital to Defence through recruitment and retention, including operational deployment and training of Reservists, the employment of veterans and Service spouses/partners and the delivery of the Cadets movement. 

As a Livery Company, The Feltmakers has a valuable position in advocating its existing and future affiliations to HMS Lancaster & HMS Formidable respectively but also in encouraging its members and their employer organisations to also follow their lead by supporting the Armed Forces family and signing the Armed Forces Covenant
